Masonry. What does that mean? Well, if you talk to 5 Masons you will most likely get 6 different answers. Our Ancient Operative Brother Masons used concrete blocks, cement or stones depending on where in time you look, to build a structure into a common mass. Current operative masons likewise build structures into common masses by using also using cement, stone, blocks or more currently, metal framing. But Speculative Masonry also does just that, by having men in like standards, work towards a common goal of improving or building upon oneself. There are countless lessons to be learned in Masonry. Some are external, some are internal. Some we absorb quickly, some we take and use to continually grow, thereby improving oneself so that we may be more useful in every phase of our lives. So as you see, Masonic Lodges around the world are for Brother Masons to meet and also plan ways, if needed, to be more useful in their community and to help the people around them, doing whatever is possible to contribute, not only to the aid of distressed needy Brothers, but other people and groups around them who also may possibly need help if deemed worthy. So if you are wondering about Masonry, not only look at, but inside yourself to see if you have what it takes to be a true and worthy Brother Mason. A person who would gladly give first, than to receive at all. If you find the need, visit your local lodge and ask a fellow Mason for advice on helping you make your decision easier. You will most likely find that your fellow Brothers are just as willing to provide you with the good and timely advice you seek, as you are to receive it. My Brothers, this is truly a wonderful fraternity and many great men not only were, but are great Masons. I am extremely proud to call myself a Mason. If every good man were a mason, life itself would be so much richer.
Fraternally,
